Obituary of Janet H. Lupe
Please share a memory of Janet to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Janet Bielinski Lupe, 66, of Troy, learned how to fly on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Born and raised in Albany, N. Y. Janet was an L.P.N. operating nurse for ten years, and later switched gears to become the first female Electricial Construction and Maintenance shop teacher in NYS at HVCC. She had a passion for gardening and won many local awards. For many years she enjoyed gardening and spending time with friends at the Ten Broeck Mansion in Albany and was a member of the National Historical Society. She was an avid Red Sox fan. Janet lived a life of unconditional giving. She was an active member of the local Blue Star Mothers, American Legion Zaloga Post, Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 38 in Troy, and many other groups because of her disabled Iraq Veteran daughter whom she was so proud of. It was not unusual for her to be at the Albany airport at 2am waving a flag to welcome a soldier whom she didn't know with a hug. She donated money she did not have, and time she could not find to countless organizations, always trying to be anonymous; never wanting recognition. Her amazing heart left to be cherished and remembered by her Brother Stefan (Karen) Bielinski; Son, John (Connie) Lupe III, daughter, Angela (Dorothy) Lupe, grandson, Gage Hillebrandt and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her beloved Samone cat as well as many friends especially her family at Diamond Ridge and closest buddies John and Elizabeth. She was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Hedwig Bielinski, her brother, Hank Bielinski and her beloved beagle "AL". The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Wednesday from 5 to 8pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 pm. The many people who will remember Janet will do so for her loving, caring, giving and pure soul. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Janet Lupes' name to Adaptve Sports Program, GPF 1328, V.A. Medical Center, Attn: Michele Ferrauilo (117), 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, N.Y. In addition: Happy Cat Rescue, Inc., PO Box 5424, Albany, N.Y. 12205.
