Obituary of Jane Hagadorn Ferris

Jane B. Hagadorn Ferris, 86, formerly of Cohoes and Schenectady, passed away on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at her son’s home with her family by her side. Jane was born in Cohoes, N.Y. on October 5, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Hagadorn. She married Charles Ferris, Jr. on April 23, 1961 in Schenectady, N.Y. Jane retired from the New York State Department of Public Works in 1961, worked for the Fabric Tree and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Dorothy Chassie, Robert Hagadorn and Ruth Adey, son-in-law Alan Gaige, grand son-in-law Leigh Carroll and her companion John Comley. She was the mother to Sandra Ferris (Catherine Allen) of Jerseyville, ILL and step mother to Charles (Bernice) Ferris III of Ballston Spa and Sally (Alan) Gaige of Earlysville, VA Jane had 6 grandchildren: Michelle (Bruce) Ragaglia, Amy Carroll (Stephen Campball), Suzanne (Raymond) Parolisi, Christine (Timothy) Traver, Tracy (Michael) Burns, Kimberly (Frances) Hogue, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Sister of Kenneth Hagadorn, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Saturday 9:00am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Vliet Blvd., Cohoes where a Requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment to follow at North Elba Cemetery, Lake Placid, N.Y. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Friday from 4 to 7pm.
