Mechanicville Dorothy T. Smith Baker, 85, of Hudson River Road, Mechanicville died at her home with her family by her side on Saturday, April 26, 2014 after a long illness. Born in Cohoes and graduated from Cohoes High School, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Eva Brassard Smith. She worked at Roxy United Dry Cleaners in Cohoes and Menands for many years. She belonged to the Sub Veterans Auxiliary. Dorothy was predeceased by her companion, Alex Leitch. Survivors include her daughters, Michelle Borden of Cohoes, Sandra Dessinger of Mechanicville and Mother of the late Karen Vaillancourt. Also survived by her brother Harold Smith, Jr., 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Wednesday, 10:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Deacon Charles Valenti officiating. Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8pm.
