Obituary of Carl J. Smith

Cohoes – Carl J. Smith, 43, of Vliet Blvd., Cohoes died suddenly on Thursday, April 3, 2014. Born and educated in Cohoes, he was a graduate of Cohoes High School Class of 1988. Son of Judith Frazier Smith Heins (Raymond) of Cohoes and the late Arthur J. Smith. He worked as a plant manager at Deman and Davis in Albany. Carl liked to ride dirt bikes, mountain biking and snowboarding. Survivors in addition to his mother are his children Rhandy Smith of Cohoes, Lucia O’Connor Smith of Cohoes, Caiden O’Connor of Cohoes, Tallulah O’Connor of Cohoes, his fiancée Kathleen O’Connor of Cohoes. Brother of Christopher Smith of Cohoes, Carleen (Kevin) Snay of Cohoes and Connie (Ray) Coalts of Lansingburgh. Uncle of Tara, Sara, Kevin, Jenna and Zachary, grandson of Doris Frazier of Cohoes, also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Monday 9:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment at the convenience of the family in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Sunday from 3 to 6pm.
