Obituary of Jessie C. Murray

Jessie C. Youngson Murray, 93, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Albany Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Aberdeen Scotland, she was the daughter of David and Helen Youngson. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Alexander Murray in 2012. She was also pre-deceased by her siblings, Roberta Raitt and Valentine Youngson. Jessie’s biggest happiness was being in her kitchen covered with flour, baking, especially her well known “Scottish Shortbread”. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She applauded every accomplishment in their lives. She was very strong, loving and supportive Mom, Nana and Nanny till the end. Jessie is survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law Helen and Walter Adey of Latham. “Nana” to Courtney Adey, Christen (Michael) Morris and Nanny to her “Cupcake”, Piper Ann Morris. Sister of Douglas (Carol) Murray of Cohoes, also survived by devoted nieces, Heather Morrissey and Roberta (Brian) Dunlavey and several other nieces and nephews both here and in Scotland. Jessie will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Mommy and say Hi to Daddy. The family would also like to give a special thanks to the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor for the support, compassion and kindness shown to Jessie and also to the staff at Albany Memorial Hospital for their support at a very difficult time. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday from 4 to 7pm. Interment at the convenience of the family.
