Obituary of Edward C. Potyrala

Cohoes – Edward C. Potyrala, 88, of Cohoes passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Born in Cohoes, he attended Cohoes High School and was the son of the late George and Bertha Rowinska Potyrala. He retired from Behr Manning – Norton Company in Watervliet after many years of service and he retired from the State Bank of Albany. He was a US Navy Veteran. A communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes and was very active in Church affairs. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Beloved husband of the late Louise Ulma Potyrala. Father of Edward M. (Barbara) Potyrala of Watervliet and the late Daniel M. Potyrala. Grandfather of Tara E. (Brett) Wiesley of Salt Lake City, UT, Erica L. (Jonathan) Tanner of Rotterdam, Justin M. Potyrala of Watervliet, Jaclyn M. (Matthew) Sickles of Rotterdam, great grandfather of Jonathan, Kayden, Abigail, Mikayla and Morgan. Brother of Genevieve Smith of Mechanicville and the late John Potyrala, Stacia Muraski, Adell O’Brien, Mildred Rajeski, Michael Potyrala and Bernard Potyrala, also survived by his sister-in-law Edna Potyrala and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday 9:00am at St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford.
