Obituary of Thomas M. Grant

Thomas M. Grant, 69, of Rensselaer, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Monday, March 12, 2018.  He was born in Albany and graduated from Averill Park High School.  Son of Elizabeth Barton Grant of Troy and the late William Grant.  He retired from Hale Creek Correctional Facility in Johnstown as a correctional officer. He loved to play golf.  Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Peltier Grant of Rensselaer, his son Corey Grant of Colonie, his step-son Leonard (Lisa) Galasso of Cohoes and the late Anthony Galasso and his grandchildren Ashley and Aaron.  Brother of William (Cindy) Grant of Myrtle Beach, So Carolina, also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Friday evening at 7:00pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Deacon Gerard Matthews officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm.  Those who wish to remember Tom in a special way may make a donation to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands in his memory.
