Obituary of Robin M Abel

Please share a memory of Robin to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robin M. Dame Kapcinski Abel, 59, of Cohoes passed away at St. Peter's Hospital on Thursday, February 7, 2018 after a short battle with cancer, embraced by her loving family. Born in Cohoes, she graduated from Cohoes High School Class of 1976. Daughter of the late Kenneth and Delores LaForest Dame. She worked for Attentive Care in Albany before her passing. Although a challenge somedays, the love she had for her clients (extended family) was shown through her ability to give them the best quality of everyday life she possibly could. She took great pride in being their care takers. Her hobbies included bird watching (a love that was passed on from her father), spending time with her family and friends and weekends at her Happy place, her beloved camp. Robin was a kind soul, when she gave, she gave a hundred percent. If you were lucky enough to meet her, then you had a friend for life. She loved everyone. Never gave a second thought in sharing herself with the ones she loved. She was the center of "Our Village", the glue that bonds us all together. We will ache from this loss for many years to come. She was predeceased by her first husband, Gary Kapcinski. Robin is survived by her husband, John Abel, along with their loving children, Lorrie Kapcinski-Rainville (Jim), Gary Kapcinski (Debbie), Mandy Irvine, Beth Abel-Collins (Paul) and Daniel Abel (Ying), her sister Kimberly Penman (Brian), her two adoring brothers Kenneth Dame (Tammy) and Christopher Dame (Sharon). Robin was blessed by 15 grandchildren, Christopher (Sabrina), Molly (Avery), Tyler (Kaitlyn), Russell, Jr., Caitlin, Reese, Lanie, James, Hunter, Brodie, Mark, Kaden, Bo, Gill and Abbigail Rose, 3 great grandchildren, Keighan, McKayla and Malik. Also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Our family would like to give a huge Thank You to St. Peter's Hospital, the care our Mama received surpassed anything we would have ever expected. She attached herself to so many kind hearts there as she always did. A special shout out to 2 McAuley, you guys are amazing. You all rock as a team and we are so blessed to have had the pleasure of meeting you all. To honor Robin's wishes, we will be having a Celebration of Life gathering on March 9, 2018 at The Shaker Ridge Country Club, from 6-9pm. We would love for you all to come and share your memories of a Beautiful Women gone to soon. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, a cause near and dear to her heart.
