Cohoes – Wanda D. Sawyer Yando, 89, of Ogden Mill Apartments, Cohoes passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 after a long illness. Born in Ausable Forks, NY to the late Frank and Ida Gravelle Sawyer. She was a floor lady at Troy District Shirt for many years. Communicant of the former St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes. Wanda was predeceased by her husband Harold "Bucky" Yando, Sr., her daughter Marcia Quackenbush and son Harold "Pappy" Yando, Jr. and her 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (H John) Straight of Malta, grandmother of Kim (Dave) Daigneault, John (Vicki) Dwyer, Colleen (Jeff) Collins, Jerame (Fredricka) Yando, Jason (Kait) Yando and Jesse Quackenbush, 10 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. Sister of Carolyn DeFuscio, also survived by several nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held on Monday 11:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Peter Tkocz officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 5pm.
