Obituary of Paul G Schermerhorn

Milford, Conn. – Paul G. Schermerhorn, 54, of Milford, Conn passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Born in Troy, to the late Robert and Margaret Byrne Schermerhorn. He graduated from Cohoes High School, Class of 1981. Paul worked as a stagehand for all the Theatres around Connecticut and the Stanford Center for the Arts. He belonged to the IATSE Union. Paul liked going to Saratoga Racetrack, NY Rangers and San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed camping and taking trips to the Islands. He loved being around his family to make sure they all stayed connected at summer picnics and holidays. He was always the life of the party. Survivors include his wife, Patty Clifford Schermerhorn of Milford, Conn, his brothers, Robert (Ora) Schermerhorn, Jr. of Melrose, Wayne (Marie) Schermerhorn of Halfmoon and his sister Colleen (Dave) Keller of Troy. Also survived by his faithful companions, Skylar and Smokey, his aunt Grace Campbell of Troy and several cousins, nieces and nephews. A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:30 pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Brian Slezak officiating, followed by a celebration of his life. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7pm.
