Obituary of Ann WeMett
Cohoes – Ann Bakay Keefe WeMett, 97, of Cohoes passed away at her home on Friday, December 1, 2017. Ann was born January 17, 1920 in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Cohoes High School. Daughter of the late George and Cecelia Chumko Bakay. She was a secretary for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Cohoes and Latham for many years. Ann was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Trinity, a member of Van Schaick Island Country Club and was an avid golfer. She loved to garden, her African violets, birds and her faithful dog Scooter. Wife of the late Don Keefe and Bennett WeMett. She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph and Anthony George Bakay. She is survived by her brother, William Bakay of Queensbury. Also survived by her nieces, Sandy (Daniel) Barrett, Christine (Joseph) Koury, Connie (Dennis) Towers, Laurie (Michael) Nelson, Diane Bakay-Talbot (Lee) and Deborah (Guy) Gordon and several great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Wednesday 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Wednesday morning from 9:00am to 10:30am prior to the service. Donations in memory of Ann may be made to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes.
