Cohoes – Jean L. Pearson VanVeghten, 70, of Cohoes passed away at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 after a short illness. Born in Troy, she graduated from Shaker High School, Class of 1965. Daughter of the late George and Dorothy Hartshorn Pearson. Jean loved her family, traveling to the beach in Maine and her flower garden. Wife of Lester VanVeghten of Cohoes, mother of Dana L. (Erin) VanVeghten of Waterford and grandmother of Derek and Carter VanVeghten. Also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and her best friend Diana Spenard of Latham. The funeral will be held on Monday 10:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Pastor Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery, Waterford. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 to 7pm.
