Obituary of Mary Jane Girard

Mary Jane Isabelle Girard, 88, formerly of Cohoes passed away peacefully at Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy on Saturday, July 8, 2017 with her family by her side. Born in Cohoes and educated in St. Joseph's elementary school and graduated from Cohoes High School, she was the daughter of the late Sigefroid and Rose Lemieux Isabelle. She retired from the City of Cohoes School District. A longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes, a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and St. Joseph's Activities and Mothers Club. A member of the Cohoes Senior Citizens and Silver Tops. She loved to travel with her husband and spend time with her family. Loving wife of Edward Girard of Troy, mother of Susan (Geoffrey) Whittle of Loudonville and Kathy (Kevin) Boivin of Rochester. Grandmother of Geoffrey (Christine)Whittle, Jr., Jennifer Whittle (Roger Smith), Laurie (David) Cook and Christine Boivin (Cathy Richardson), great grandmother of Hayden and Mary Kate Cook and Haley Clark. Sister of the late Leo Isabelle, Armand Isabelle, Rita Charlebois and Laura Krause also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday 9:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Richard Testa officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
