Obituary of Frank E Lanoue
Albany – Frank E. Lanoue, 92, of Albany, New York passed peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024. He will be spending eternity with his loving wife, Agnes, with whom he shared 64 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2020. Frank was the youngest of six siblings (William, June, Lewis, Robert, and Ruth) born to Marion and Alfred Lanoue of Cohoes, NY. As with his three older brothers, Frank enlisted in the United States Navy just after he graduated from Cohoes High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Agnes, soon after her graduation and they traveled the world together, adding a son and daughter to their family along the way. Frank’s 23 year military career led him to amazing places such as: Ethiopia; Ewa Beach, Hawaii; Norfolk, Virginia; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and Bainbridge, Maryland. After retiring from the Navy in 1972, Frank and his family returned to their hometown of Cohoes, NY with Frank taking a job with Sperry UNIVAC in Albany, NY. Frank and Agnes eventually retired to the Valleydale Community in Zephyrhills, Florida. Frank was an active square dance caller, bowler, and competed in shuffleboard tournaments. He stayed in touch with his Navy buddies at ship reunions, the local American Legion, and the VFW. Frank moved to the Loudonville Assisted Living Residence in Albany, NY soon after Agnes’ passing. Frank is survived by his two children Kenneth Lanoue (Ann) and Kathleen Lanoue Alvaro. He is survived by his grandchildren Amanda, Kim Brianne, Taylor, Matthew, and Zachary. And also, his great grandchildren Christopher, Roslyn, Aston, Parker, Elias, and Carson. The family would like to recognize and thank the doctors, nurses, medical professionals and staff at the Loudonville Assisted Living Residence and Albany Stratton VA Medical Center for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (https:/www.nmcrs.org/). A service for the family will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at a later date.
