Halfmoon – Patricia (Pat) M. Kurywka, 78, of Halfmoon and formerly of Cohoes passed away at St. Peter’s Hospice on Monday May 13, 2024. She was born in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Michael and Rose Kostyk Kurywka, Sr. She was educated in St. Peter and St. Paul School in Cohoes and Samaritan School of Nursing in Troy where she received her Bachelor’s Degree as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Samaritan Hospital in Troy and retired from the New York State Department of Health. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Kurywka, Sr., and Michael Kurywka. Pat is survived by her nephew Paul Kurywka of Albany, great niece Bridget (Christopher) Engel of Waterford and great great niece Josephine Rose Engel, also survived by many friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church, Loudonville on Friday, May 17, 2024, at 10:30am. Interment will follow in St. Peter & St. Paul Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday, May 16, from 4 to 7pm.
