Obituary of James F Schrimsher
James F. Schrimsher, Sr., 68, of Watervliet passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany on Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Albany and was the son of the late Richard and Donna Bernard Schrimsher. He attended Columbia High School. He was a bus driver for Rensselaer City School District. He was a member and Firefighter for Boght Community Fire Department, Commissioner for Boght Community Fire District, Fire Police Captain. He also was an East Greenbush Firefighter and a Firefighter for the City of Rensselaer. He liked to go to the casino, enjoyed camping, going to baseball games and attending Baileys plays. He also coached Little League. Most of all his family was very important to him. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Hanks Schrimsher of Watervliet, his children Lisa (Kenneth) Loika of Watervliet and James (Melanie) Schrimsher of Watervliet. Grandfather of Cody Phillips and Bailey Schrimsher. Brother of Tina (Larry) Ward of Wynantskill, Richard (late Tina) Schrimsher of Rensselaer, David (Kelly) Schrimsher of Cohoes, Lisa (Paul) Putnam of Tennessee and the late Sheila White, Robert Schrimsher and Wayne Schrimsher, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, 6:30PM at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 6:30pm prior to the service. Friends who wish to remember Jim in a special way may donate to the Boght Community Fire Department in his memory.
