Obituary of Susan B Bourret
Speigletown – Susan Benoit Bourret, 79, of Speigletown, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Monday, January 29, 2024. She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late George and Anna Mai Benoit. She graduated from Keveny Memorial Academy, Cohoes, Class of 1962. Sue was a legal secretary at Richard Ceresia Law Office in Troy for many years, retiring in 2019. Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Speigletown Fire Department. Besides spending time with her family and friends, Sue enjoyed going to the casinos, especially in Las Vegas. Sue also enjoyed watching her favorite TV shows; NCIS, 911, Chicago Fire, Grey's Anatomy and Dancing with the Stars. She looked forward to putting out all of her seasonal decorations for Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, Easter, Halloween and Christmas. She also liked to sit at the kitchen table and watch the birds feed on the deck and watch the neighborhood cats pass through. Wife of the late Donald L. Bourret. Survivors include her children, Michael (Gayle) Bourret of Chesire, MA, Scott Bourret (Kim Weber) of Troy and Kathy Sue (Jason) Davin of Troy, grandmother of Stephen (Shannon) Bourret and Christine (Justin) Myers and great grandmother of Layla and Jack Bourret and Jace Myers. Sister of Carl (Linda) Benoit of Waterford, Evelyn (David) Dufresne of Cohoes and Jeanne (late Harold) Potts of Cohoes and the late Georgianna Ellett and Eleanore Reese. Also survived by her Sister-in-law Sue Ann Gutmann of Long Island and several nieces,nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at 10:30am. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm. Friends who wish to remember Sue in a special way may donate to the Speigletown Fire Department in her memory.
