Michael L. Stephenson, 54, of Cohoes, passed away suddenly at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Saturday, December 23, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born in Troy and is the son of Carol Stephenson of Altona, NY, and the late Linn (Mike) Stephenson. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School. He worked at Bimbo Bakeries USA in Albany for several years. Mike enjoyed fishing and camping in the Adirondacks. Survivors in addition to his mother are his wife of thirty-three and ½ years, Tammy Garrison Stephenson of Cohoes, his sons, Michael Stephenson, Jr. of Cohoes, and Staff Sargent Matthew Stephenson of Cohoes. Brother of Gerald Stephenson of Salem, NY, and Carolyn (Marcus) Stephenson Diehl of Cohoes, also survived by his niece, Katlynn (Eugene) Midura of Pleasantdale, several cousins, and his best friend Robert Kable. Funeral services will be held at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 6:30pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 6:30pm prior to the service. Friends who wish to remember Mike in a special way may donate to the charity of one’s choice in his memory.
