Halfmoon: Richard F. Malo, 76, of Halfmoon, passed away at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing, Amsterdam, after a long illness, on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Kennedy Malo. He attended Cohoes High School. He worked for 30 years for the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles as a senior clerk and NYS Department of Labor. Richard enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife and family, playing cards, reading, and going to the Saratoga Casino. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Linda Malo of Halfmoon, his sons, Eric Malo of Rotterdam, and Scott Malo of Halfmoon. Brother of Kevin (Mick) Malo, Sr. (Kathy) of Halfmoon, Dennis Malo (Irene) of Cohoes, Alfred Malo (Wanda) of Kentucky, Edward Malo of Waterford and Kathleen Malo of Schenectady, brother of the late Donald Malo and William Malo. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 11:30 AM in the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Nick TeBordo officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 prior to the service.
