Green Island – Edward W. Palitsch, 93, formerly of California and Green Island, passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor, North Greenbush on Friday, August 24, 2023.  He was born and educated in Troy and was the son of the late James and Adeline Bureau Palitsch. Edward served his country in the US Navy.  He was a car salesman at WH Bumstead in Troy before moving to California where he was a salesman for Electrolux.  He was a member of the Screen Actors Guild in California.  He is survived by his sisters, Edna Foley of Albany and Shirley Potts of Cohoes and the late James J. Palitsch.  He is survived by nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, at 12:00 noon in the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday morning from 11:00 to 12:00 noon prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff at Van Rensselaer Manor and the staff at Community Hospice for the care given to Edward.
