Obituary of Donald L Bourret

Speigletown – Donald L. Bourret, 81, of Speigletown passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Lloyd and Marion Fennen Bourret. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School, Class of 1960. He served his country in the US Army. He was a surveyor supervisor for the Department of Transportation in Albany, retiring after 25 years of service. He liked to fish and was a volunteer at Speigletown Fire Department for over 20 years. Former member of the Watervliet Elks Club. Husband of 59 years to Susan Benoit Bourret of Troy. Father of Michael (Gayle) Bourret of Cheshire, MA., Scott (Kim Weber) Bourret of Troy and Kathy Sue (Jason) Davin of Troy, grandfather of Stephen (Shannon) Bourret and Christine (Justin) Myers and great grandfather of Layla and Jack Bourret and Jace Myers. Brother of Sue Ann Gutman of Long Island and the late Joan Metzger and June Marrow. Brother-in-law of Carl and Linda Benoit of Waterford, David and Evelyn Dufresne of Cohoes, Jeanne (the late Harold) Potts of Cohoes, and the late Doug and Georgianna Ellett and Rodger and Eleanore Reese, also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at 6:00pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 to 6:00pm prior to the service.
