Obituary of Madeleine A. Richard
Lexington, NY – Madeleine Richard, 89, of Lexington, NY was recalled to heaven on January 18, 2023. Madeleine was born June 5, 1933, in the Village of St. Pierre du Broughton, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Pierre and Leontine Maheux Richard. She grew up working on the family farm and was a beautiful person that everyone loved. She loved to read, gardening, do quilting and was a very talented seamstress. She retired from Watervliet Arsenal from the carpentry shop and was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Mechanicville. Madeleine is survived by her sister Therese Stone of Southbury, CT., her companion Ben (Bernard) Nadeau and many nieces and nephews and several generations of loving nieces and nephews throughout the US and Canada. Madeleine was predeceased by her parents, 4 brothers and 6 sisters. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Livingston Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the exceptional care and compassion shown to Madeleine during her time with them. To honor her wishes there will be no funeral or memorial services. A private service will be held by the family at their convenience. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1003 New Loudon Road, Suite 201, Cohoes, NY 12047 or the Eddy Foundation, 301 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208. Her loving presence and easy humor will be missed by all.
