Cohoes – John S. Pozniakas, 60, a lifelong resident of Cohoes, passed away peacefully at Samaritan Hospital, Troy with his family by his side on Monday, September 26, 2022. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late Edward and Helen Marcil Pozniakas. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School. John worked at Philips Medical Systems in Latham for a long time as a machinist making medical equipment for MRI’s. A former member of the PAA in Cohoes and Cohoes Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid NY Jets fan, he loved to cook, crash his drones and he liked to travel. He loved his basset hound, Dozer. John is survived by his loving wife of 13 years Deanna (Darcy) Pozniakas of Cohoes and his brother Victor E. Pozniakas of Cohoes and his sister Rosemarie A. Pozniakas of Cohoes, he is also survived by cousins, especially Janet Seguin, our Angel of Mercy. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes on Friday September 30, 2022, at 9:30am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday from 4 to 7pm.
