Waterford – Edith (Edie) A. Dudek, 72, of Waterford, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany on Thursday, August 4, 2022. She was born in Manhattan, NY. and was the daughter of the late Louise Cashdollar Weir. She graduated from Duanesburg High School and Mary McCullen School for Nursing where she received her associates degree as an LPN. She worked at Leonard Hospital, Troy then Highgate Nursing Home. She worked for the NYS Health Department as Public Health Rep, then she helped her husband John at LaMarche’s Variety in Cohoes, before retiring from the NYS Health Department after 20 years of service. Edie loved gardening, she did decorative painting, teaching many her skills in painting and did many craft fairs. Survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Dudek of Waterford. Sister of James (Anne) Weir of Cohoes, Thomas Cashdollar of Duanesburg and the late Carol Cashdollar and Kenneth Weir, also survived by nieces and nephews. Friends who wish to remember Edie in a special way may donate to the American Heart Association, 4 Atrium Drive, Suite 100, Albany, NY 12205 in her memory. Funeral services are private at the convenience of the family.
