Cohoes – Robert T. Carpenter, Sr. of Cohoes, passed away at Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center, East Greenbush, on Sunday, July 24, 2022. He was born and educated in Cohoes and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Holmes Carpenter. Bob was a US Navy Veteran serving his country from 1944 to 1946. He loved his country. He then worked and retired from the Watervliet Arsenal as a machinist. He was an avid golfer, he liked to sing and loved dogs. Bob was a television repairman for many years. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes and he donated to many charities. Husband of the late Jeannette Bagley Carpenter. Father of Robert (June) Carpenter, Jr. of Albany, and step grandfather of Doris Chen of California. Brother of the late Matthew Carpenter, Stephen Carpenter, Richard Carpenter, Patricia Mahar, and Joann O’Neil, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2022, at 11:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 9 to 11am prior to the service.
