Ballston Spa – Elizabeth A. Cooney Pater, 98, of Ballston Spa and formerly of Cohoes, passed away at her home with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 6, 2022. She was born in Troy and was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Walish Cooney. She was educated in Lansingburg High School. She was a seamstress at Cluett Peabody in Troy for many years. Elizabeth was a member of the Cohoes Columbiettes Council #192. Wife of the late Edmund Pater. Mother of Jacqueline (late Tim) Brennan of Ballston Spa, Edmund Pater, Jr. of Denver, CO, and Edward (Erin) Farron of Latham. Grandmother of Brenda Brennan, Tracey Nieckarz, Matthew Masters Pater, Erica Farron, Michael Farron and Catherine Farron, great grandmother of Megan Nieckarz (Princess), Melissa Nieckarz (Sweetie) and Angelina Farron. Sister of Esther Glogowski and the late Mary Farron, Edward Cooney, Charles (Ike) Cooney and Robert Cooney, also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Saturday, July 9, 2022, from 1 to 4pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10:00am with burial to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford. Friends who wish to remember Elizabeth in a special way may donate to Community Hospice , 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144 in her memory.
