Niskayuna – Leo E. Patnode, 80, of Niskayuna, formerly of Ballston Spa, passed away at Mountain Valley Hospice, Gloversville, NY on Monday, February 21, 2022. He was born in Troy and was the son of the late Leo H. and Elizabeth McDermott Patnode. Leo attend Cohoes High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He was a Supervisor for St. Gobain Abrasive, formerly Norton Behr Manning in Watervliet, retiring after 43 years of service. Leo was in the Army National Guard for 31 years which included service in the Rainbow Division. He was a member of the Ballston Spa Elks 2619 and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Ballston Spa, and a choir member for many years. Leo was an enthusiastic gym member and loved to run and work out, often sharing his accomplishments with gym members and family alike. He is survived by his children, Kimberly L. (Gerald) Saunders of Virginia, Leo J. (Danielle) Patnode, grandchildren Reece and Sander of Colorado, Heather E. (Chris)Sheehan, grandchildren Cole and Zoe of Massachusetts. Brother of Ann (Noah) Poissant of Cohoes, also survived by nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews and a great-great niece. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Monday, March 7, 2022, from 4 to 7pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at the  Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 1:30pm.
