Obituary of Ernest R. Jarvis
Cohoes – Ernest Jarvis, 88, of Cohoes passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on February 16, 2022. He was born in Northside Waterford and was the son of the late Raymond and Lena Forget Jarvis. He was educated in Keveny Memorial Academy. He was employed for Corina Construction in Troy, then Beltrone Construction in Latham, after several years at Beltrone he became a Vice President. He was a devoted member of the Boght Community Fire District for many years, later served as Fire Commissioner, Association of Fire Districts Capital Area, Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York where he served as President of the Association, he was very involved with fire district affairs. He enjoyed camping most of his life. He enjoyed many days on the lake with his Chris Craft boat., He was a member of FMCA, and Green Mountain chapter. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane Dassatti Jarvis of Cohoes, his daughter, Kathleen (Rick) Moore of Waterford, father of the late Lawrence Jarvis (Fiancé Patrice Yager of Waterford). Grandfather of Bryan (Stacy) Dowling, Jennifer (Erik) Leonard, Lori Dowling and Lindsey Dowling, great grandfather of Connor Dowling. And his fur buddy, Teddy. Brother of Florence Hermans and the late Raymond Jarvis, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 10:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish to remember Ernie in a special way may donate to St. Ambrose Church, Latham, or Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, Menands
