Obituary of John E Koblensky
Troy – John “Jack” Koblensky,90, a lifetime resident of Cohoes and Troy, NY, passed away peacefully at his residence on August 26, 2021. He was born and educated in Cohoes and was the son of the late Stephen and Bertha Tobin Koblensky. Jack worked for Alec Specialty Steel Corp. for his entire career. He was mechanically gifted and could fix anything. He took pride in working tirelessly over the years to renovate his old Victorian home on 7th Avenue in Lansingburgh. Jack was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He loved a spirited game of darts and poker with family. He was a quiet, loving father and grandfather. Jack is preceded in death by his wife Fernande (Fran) Koblensky (2011) and brothers Leo and Stephen. Jack is survived by his sisters Joanne and Leona. Father to John “Jack” Koblensky, Jr. (Christine), Stephen J. Koblensky (Cheryl), Joseph Koblensky and Kathleen Koblensky O’Melia (Joseph). Grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 11:00am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.
