Cohoes – Gary B. Sawyer, 58, of Cohoes, passed away peacefully at his home, with his family by his side on Friday, August 13, 2021.  Born in Troy, he was a 1980 graduate of Cohoes High School. Son of Ronald and Linda Sawyer of Cohoes, and Shirley Sawyer and Ralph Green of Corinth, NY.  He was owner of United Appliance Parts in Schenectady and Cohoes for over 33 years.  He was active in Cohoes Kiwanis and past President of Cohoes Neighborhood Watch, George Street.  Gary was a valued member of the community.  Survivors in addition to his parents are his wife of 37 years, Tina Bauer Sawyer of Cohoes, his children Katherine (Vincent) Strow of Clifton Park, Christopher (Nicole) Sawyer of Cohoes and Meighan Sawyer of Cohoes and father of the late Stephen Sawyer.  Grandfather of Emma (Nova), Jacob, Ronald, Derick, Jaelyn and Lyndsy.  Brother of Debbie Thibeault of Saratoga and Ronald J. Sawyer of Cohoes.  Also survived by several nieces, nephews and his best friend of 50 years, Richard Milian.  Services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Friends who wish to remember Gary in a special way may donate to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12302, animalprotective.org in Gary’s memory.
