Cohoes – Edward S. Adamczyk, Jr., 75, of Cohoes, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021. He was born in Cohoes and was the son of the late Edward and Jadwiga Szmitkowski Adamczyk. He graduated from Cohoes High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. He retired from New York State Department of Labor. A volunteer at the Cohoes Community Center,he was active in Halfmoon Senior Center,Gilda's Club,now American Cancer Society, a former member of the Lansingburgh American Legion and former member of the Cohoes-Waterford Elks. An avid bowler, a big animal lover, he loved to garden, he loved music and to do cross word puzzles. Survivors include his children, Christopher Adamczyk of Georgia, Jeffrey Adamczyk of Maryland and Karen Hewes of Alaska, his grandchildren, Pierce, Caitlyn,and Brandon. Also survived by his companion Shawn Monahan of Cohoes, his sisters, Anna (late Thomas) Barbagallo of Cohoes, Christina Adamczyk Amyot of Cohoes and the late Wanda Feather, Gertrude Lefebvre, Casimir Adamczyk and Phyllis Laranjo, survived by his sister-in-law Catherine Adamczyk of Cohoes and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, NY on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:30am.,please meet at the cemetery entrance by 11:15 am. Friends who wish to remember Ed in a special way may donate to the Veterans Miracle Center, 10 Interstate Avenue, Albany, NY 12205 in his memory.
