Obituary of Kelly J. Gilbert

Kelly J. Pike Gilbert, 55, of Troy, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany with her family by her side on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was born in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Albert and Beatrice Roach Pike. She graduated from Lansingburgh High School Class of 1984. Owner and operator of Kelly’s Cuts in Troy for many years and Newkirk Products in Guilderland for 13 years as a laser press operator. Wife of Michael E. Gilbert, of Troy. Sister of Lawrence (Jennifer) Pike of Niskayuna and Ronald (Tammy) LaChance, Sr. of Hinsdale, MA and aunt of Rebecca, Leah and Ronald, Jr. Daughter-in-law of Gloria Gilbert of East Greenbush, sister-in-law of Mark Gilbert (Tarra Hesse) of East Greenbush, and Daughter-in-law of Edward Gilbert of Arizona. Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, her dogs, Nub, Ding and Shea and her lifelong best friend, Darci Salmon. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday evening 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 7pm prior to the service. Friends who wish to remember Kelly in a special way may donate to St. Peter’s Hospice or the American Cancer Society in her memory. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed inside and outside of the funeral home.
