Daniel F. Sawyer, 67, of Troy passed away at Samaritan Hospital on Sunday, January 29, 2017. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Gordon and June Sawyer. He was a cook at Bob's Diner in Watervliet for 35 years. Father of Daniel F. Sawyer, Jr., Belinda M. Sawyer, April L. Sawyer O'Connor (Chris), Madison, Ryan and Sydney McDermott, grandfather of Kitana, Zackary, Maria, Emma and Luke. Brother of Bonnie Washburn, Geraldine Durocher, Sharon Czechowicz, Linda White, Starr LeBlanc, Tina Giroux, Susan Sousie, Ricky Sawyer, Frank Sawyer, Rocky Sawyer, Faron Sawyer and Jesse Sawyer and the late Gordon L. Sawyer, Mary Cerulli, Diane Kelly, Sheila Ehring, Jerry Sawyer, also survived by many nieces, nephews and his former wife Nancy Whalen Giffen. Funeral Thursday evening at 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 7pm.
