Obituary of Lora A. Pawenski

Lora A. Olsen Pawenski, 80, of Cohoes passed away at her residence with her family by her side on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. She was born in Elizabeth City, NC. and was educated in Watervliet schools. Daughter of the late Nils Olsen. She owned and operated an insurance agency in Clifton Park, NY with her husband, from 1965 to 2018. Lora and Stanley were world travelers, traveling to Europe and other countries many times. Lora belonged to St. Michael’s Community Center Ladies Auxiliary, former PNA on Mohawk Street and a communicant St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Stanley J. Pawenski of Cohoes, her daughter Susan (John) Curtis of Cohoes, grand-daughters, Sara (Sean) Burwell of Cohoes and Sandra (Austin) Kipp of Troy, grandson, David (Crystal) Gregoire of Cohoes and several great grandchildren. Sister of Eric (Betty Jo) Olsen, Nils Olsen, Ivar Olsen, Christopher Olsen, and John Olsen all of Florida, also survived by nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lori A. Pawenski, grand-daughter Mandy Curtis, and brother Hans Olsen. Funeral services will be held on Friday, 9:30am at St. Michael’s Church, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Waterford. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday from 4 to 6pm. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed inside and outside of the funeral home.
