My favorite memory of Louie was at his daughter's wedding. They started our with the traditional waltz and then stopped and went into a crazy jitterbug!! Everyone went crazy. He was a very gentle and kind man who will be missed by many.

So sorry to hear about the loss of such a great man. Lou was always a fixture in my life, and a summer staple of the Rock at the Overlook Beach Club. Lou was always one to greet you with a smile, and never seemed too burdened to talk with anyone. He was always supportive of your endeavors and enjoyed any updates you would provide him. Lou kept a watchful eye on all the “kids” of Overlook regardless of their age.
Lou always had a way with people. I think kids in Overlook probably thought of him as a second grandpa, because he just had that nice quality. You always felt comfortable with Lou around and he always showed interest in you.
One of my most fond memories of Lou came when I was young, but it has stuck with me forever.
Some of the kids of the Rock decided to sell lemonade one day by the water. We set up a lemonade stand, and as I recall we were selling lemonade for $0.25 a cup. Not one to miss out on an opportunity to help us succeed, Lou decided he would purchase a cup from us. However, Lou didn’t have money on him at the time. So, he took the long walk back to his camp to collect some loose change. For anyone who doesn’t know the Rock or where the Tessier’s camp is, the walk is about a 10-minute round trip.
Lou returned with change and asked us young entrepreneurs for a cup of our finest lemonade. So, we went to pour Lou a cup, but unfortunately the lemonade jug was near empty. I believe that maybe 3 or 4 drops fell into Lou’s outstretched paper cup. We said, oh no Lou, looks like we are all out. He responded instantly with a smile and took a sip of his 3 to 4 drops of lemonade. Then he said, don’t worry I just needed to wet my whistle. He then handed us a small fortune that was easily ten times the cost of our $0.25 lemonade.
Lou never missed a moment to help put a smile on the face of a child. If there ever was a visible definition of a true gentleman, I think it would be Lou Tessier. I will miss seeing him every summer.
