I worked with Larry for several years in the 1980s when I went to the Radioactive Materials Laboratory where Larry spent most of his working career. Larry taught me what a scientist is and does. That lesson stuck with me for the rest of my working career at KAPL.
Larry could make troubles manageable and good times better just by being there. He easily blurred the lines between friend and co-worker and helped me to find my way in uncertain and difficult times. He is a treasure lost. But he will be found again by many of us because, while each of us comes to a day on which there is no tomorrow, that day is also a beginning. Larry has found the bridge across that tomorrow and started a new life free from trouble and in the company of those he loves. It will be a life with tomorrows unending. He has made that journey before us, but we will come later. My trip will be a little bit easier knowing that he is waiting there to meet me and give me the handshake and hug I will have waited for so long. Larry, thank you for sharing a small part of your life with me. Yours has been a life well lived. Go in Peace and Love, Dear Friend. You will be in my heart until we meet again.
