Obituary of Carolyn I DeFruscio

Carolyn I. DeFruscio, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Frostproof,FL on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. She was born February 4, 1935, in Au Sable Forks,NY to the late Frank and Ida (Gravelle) Sawyer.  Carolyn was a winter resident of Floridafor the past 30+ years, first in Kissimmee and then Frostproof for the last 12 years. Carolynworked at a family run Dry Cleaning business in Cohoes with her sisters before retiring to care for her late husband. She was a former member of St. Joseph’s Church, Cohoes.Carolyn was predeceased by her devoted and loving husband Richard and her seven brothers and  six sisters, Chester, Francis (Buster), Gordon, Clifton, Winston, Allen, John, Viola,Prudy, Loretta, Betty, Wanda and Mona.She is survived by her beloved children Karen (Wayne), Michael (Lynn),Scott, (Noreen), Jeffrey, (Denise), her 11 precious grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. Funeral service will be held at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 6:30pm with Rev. Donald Bourgeois officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The family has requested in lieu of flowers,donations be made in Carolyn's name to her favorite charity, St. Jude Children's ResearchHospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.   Burial will be private at a later date.
