Obituary of Lorraine M Murray

Cohoes – Lorraine M. Baker Murray, 90, of Cohoes, passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Thursday, October 18, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.  She was born and educated in Cohoes and was the daughter of the late Elphege and Lucille Lord Baker.  She worked for New York State Department of Environmental Services until she started her family.  After her children were grown, she worked for Matthew Bender.  She was a devoted NY Yankees fan and did the daily crossword puzzle and Jumble.  Most of all she loved her family.    

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Arthur F. Murray of Cohoes, her children David (Linda) Murray of Waterford, Pamela (Mark) Colozza of Cohoes, Carol (David) Trotman of Southampton, MA, William Murray of Alford, MA, Mary Ann Murray of Athens, NY, and Kathleen Murray of Cohoes, her grandchildren, Christopher, Benjamin, Michael, Ryan, Meg, Jenna, Lily and Eric, and three great grandchildren.  Sister of Roland J. Baker of Amsterdam and the late Margaret Beaulne, Mary Jane Neiland and Julian Baker.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes, with Rev. Donald Bourgeois officiating.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.  Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm.  Friends who wish to remember Lorraine in a special way may donate to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
