Obituary of Virginia R. Shakerley

Virginia (Ginny) R. McClure Shakerley, 66, of Clifton Park, passed away at Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Schaghticoke, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.  Born in Tonawanda, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. McClure and Eleanor Ohlinger McClure.  She graduated from Shenendehowa High School Class of 1970. She attended Memorial School of Nursing and graduated as an RN in 1973.  She was the head RN at St. Peter’s Hospital Emergency Department and later maintaining her nursing career with part time jobs.  Then after meeting the love of her life Dick, together they co-founded VRS Sales in Clifton Park.  Ginny was predeceased by her loving husband Richard (Dick) who passed away on July 7, 2018.  Mother of Nate (Nicole) Shakerley of Troy, Rich (Nikki) Shakerley of Clifton Park and A.J. Shakerley of Clifton Park. Grandmother of Sabrina, Abigale and Emma Shakerley.  Sister of Michael (Flo) McClure of Glenville, also survived by several nieces, nephews and her best friends Kathryn Brizzell and Beth Chapdelaine. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Edward the Confessor Church, Clifton Park on Monday, July 16, 2018 at 3:00pm.  Friends who wish to remember Ginny in a special way may make a contribution to St. Peter’s Hospital Foundation, 310 South Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208 in her memory.
