Obituary of John W. LaDue

Cohoes – John W. LaDue, 76, of Cohoes, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family.  Born in North Adams, MA, and educated in Troy Schools. He was the son of the late John LaDue and Lillian McPhail Ruby.  He was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity.  He was employed for many years by the City of Cohoes and later worked as a self-employed contractor. His greatest joys were camping and going to the track with his family. He also had a passion for the NY Yankees and country music.  In his younger days he could be seen playing the drums for a local country band at the Ranch Bar.  Although it never came to pass, John was certain he was going to someday win big at the casino. Survived by his wife Sandra Tompkins LaDue of Cohoes, his children John (Jacalyn) LaDue of West Springfield, MA, Robert (Mary Beth) LaDue of Cohoes, Paula (Henry) Paszkowski of Colonie and Karen (William) Need of Waterford and the late Donald LaDue.  Also survived by his daughter-in-law Laurie LaDue of Albany, his brother Gary (Carole) LaDue of Clifton Park, 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  Funeral Wednesday, May 23 at 9:00 am from  the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated.  Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.  Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Tuesday from 4 to 7pm.  Those who wish to remember John in a special way may donate to Hospice of Albany County in his memory.
