Obituary of William M. Deubel

Cohoes – William M. Deubel, 65, of Cohoes, passed away at St. Peter’s Hospital, Albany on Sunday, April 8, 2018.  He was born in Troy, educated in St. Ambrose School and graduated from Shaker High School.  Son of John Deubel of Latham and the late Viola McConnell Deubel.  He worked as a machinist at IBT in Troy for several years.  He was an excellent guitar and piano player, he was an avid Beatles fan and he had a love for Saratoga racing.  He liked woodworking and making furniture and had a love for history.  He loved the ocean and sail boating, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and vacationing with the family.  Survivors in addition to his father is his wife of 40 years, Diana Launsbach Deubel of Cohoes, his children Barbara Deubel of Earlton, NY and Marie Garnett of Scotia, his grandchildren Elisha, Brandon and Emily.  Brother of Mary Flood of Clifton Park and the late John Deubel, Jr., also survived by several nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday afternoon at 3:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. Brian Slezak officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 to 4pm.
