Obituary of Theresa Kane

Theresa LaPlante Kane, 94, of Cohoes passed away at Van Rensselaer Manor, Troy on Thursday, June 2, 2016 after a brief illness. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Laura Galipeau LaPlante. She worked at the Cohoes Memorial Hospital, Cohoes Senior Citizen Center and the S&S Cleaners in Cohoes. A former member of the Ladies of Ste. Anne Society at St. Joseph's Church, Cohoes, a former member of the Cohoes Columbiettes Council #192 and a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham. Wife of the late Albert J. Kane. Survivors are her children, Leonard (Maureen) Kane of Saratoga, Ronald (Judy) Kane of Poestenkill, John (Lillian) Kane of Cohoes, Mary (Thomas) Hunt of Valley Falls, Sharon (Joseph) Thouin of Cohoes, Bruce Kane of Clifton Park and Tammy (David) Magnano of Saratoga, grandmother of Sean, Scott and Keith Kane, Jessica DeConno, Heather Rusiecki, Timothy and Christopher Kane, Serena and Nicole D'Amico, Shannon Burton, Melissa Federman, Megan Gifford, Joseph Thouin, Allison Minerva, Eric Magnano and Jared Kane and 20 great grandchildren. Sister of the late Eugene LaPlante, Isadore LaPlante and John LaPlante, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Tuesday, 9:00am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Geoffrey D. Burke. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Monday from 4 to 8pm.
