Charles S. Johnson, 51, of Troy, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Born on July 24, 1964 in Memphis, TN, he was the son of Mother Gerry Clemmons of Troy and the late Dr. Terry Johnson. Formerly of Memphis, TN and Stuart, FL, Charley was a graduate of White Station High School, Memphis and he attended the University of Memphis. An award-winning Glazier for over 20 years and was a member of the Painters/Glaziers Union Local 155. He was loved by all. Additional survivors are his son Richard Witham Johnson of Hot Springs, AR, his nephew and niece Steven (Sara) and Tiffany Johnson of Malvern, AR, his Step-Father Byard Clemmons of Troy, his step-brother Gordon Clemmons of Charlotte, NC, his Step-Mother Joanne Johnson and step-sister Deidra Ryan both of Memphis and his longtime girlfriend Joanne Slater of Cohoes. He was predeceased by his brother G. Donald Johnson. Funeral Tuesday, 10:00am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 415 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes with Bishop William Love officiating. The family will receive friends at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Monday from 4:30 to 7:00pm. Those who wish to remember Charley in a special way may make a donation in his memory to St. John’s Episcopal Church, Cohoes.
