Joan T. LaRochelle Dawson, 83, of the Eddy Village Green, Cohoes passed away at Samaritan Hospital, Troy on Saturday, April 30, 2016 after a long illness. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Ovila and Julia Hayes LaRochelle. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Russell C. Dawson. Survivors include her children, Karyn (Onil) Perrier of Michigan, Sandra (John) Hilton of Troy, Jeannette (Thomas) Wilary of Florida, Lynne (Joseph) Ahrent of Cohoes, Michelle (John) Porcello of West Sand Lake and Russell C. Dawson of Waterford, 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Sister of Rose Johnson of Colonie, Ann McKersie of Florida and the late Diane Ghetti and William LaRochelle, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service Wednesday evening at 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Mother Geraldine Clemmons officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 to 6:30pm.
