Mary Theresa Walsh Yakel, 74, of Central Avenue, Cohoes passed away at her home on Thursday, March 10, 2016 after a long illness. Born and educated in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Cybil May Carter Walsh. She was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes. Wife of the late Willard H. Yakel. Mother of Kathleen Greco of Cohoes and Michael Greco of Slingerlands and the late Fred Greco. Sister of Susan (Theodore) Marcil of Cohoes, also predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Grandmother of Dustin Greco and Tristin Greco and great grandmother of Christian Greco, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 2:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Rev. James Ebert officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30pm. Those who wish to remember Theresa in a special way may make a donation to the VA Medical Center Project Lifesaver, C/O Lee Burns, 113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208.
