Cohoes Edward J. Jarvis, 66, of Troy and formerly of Cohoes died at VA Medical Center, Albany on January 16, 2013 after a long illness. He was born in Troy and graduated from Cohoes High School. Son of the late Henry and Irene Collier Jarvis. He was a Navy Veteran serving in the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. He is survived by his sister, Carol (Tom) Muckle of Troy, Norman (Yvonne) Jarvis of Cohoes and the late Donald Jarvis, also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service Thursday 11:30am at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes with Pastor Tom Sardella officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00am to 12:00 noon. Interment in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville. Contributions may be made in Eds memory to the National Cemetery Honorary Guard, c/o Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. 12871. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the VA staff on 8B, 9B and dialysis unit for the care given to our brother.
