Obituary of John F. Graca

John F. Graca, 91, of Cohoes passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 after a short illness. Born on the Portuguese Island of Madeira, he was a longtime resident of Cohoes. As an adolescent, John worked alongside his family at The Wooden Heel in the Harmony Mills and was employed as a chef and restaurant manager for most of his life, notably at Clifton Knolls Country Club, Elnora and Captain's Table, Halfmoon, NY. John will be remembered as a kind and generous man devoted to his family. He was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes. He was predeceased by his wife, Lillian Dumouchel Graca, a loving father to his two daughters, Linda Graca of Cohoes and Jean Graca-Delgado of Schenectady, NY, a loving grandfather to Jessica Duda-Steele (Donald) of Slidell, LA and a proud and loving great-grandfather to Micah J. Steele. He cherished the love of his cousins, nieces and their families. A celebration of John's life will take place Saturday, February 6, 2016 at 10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM, Church of the Holy Trinity, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes, NY. Burial will be in St Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford, at the convenience of the family.
