– Joan M. Prince, 84, of Watervliet, passed away at Albany Medical Center on Sunday, January 24, 2016 after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Adella Pepper Higgins. She was a home maker and resided in Watervliet for 43 years. Wife of the late Joseph Prince. She is survived by her beloved children, Karen (Glenn) Gillam of Las Vegas, Nevada, Barbara (Richard) Poleto of Benicia, Ca., Darin Prince of Watervliet and Brian (Cindy) Prince of Watervliet, 6 grandchildren, Zachary Gillam, Nicholas Poleto, Kate Melody, Sara, Matthew and Meredith Prince, 10 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by 14 brothers and sisters. At Joan's request there are no viewing hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service Thursday 10:30 AM at St. Peter Armenian Church, 100 Troy-Schenectady Road, Watervliet officiated by Rev. Stepanos Doudoukjian. Interment will follow in Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville, N.Y. Those who wish to remember Joan in a special may make a contribution to the American Heart Association in her memory.
