Kathleen A. Hubbard Kawola, 74, of Cohoes passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Monday, September 14, 2015 at the Teresian House in Albany. Born in Troy, a graduate of Catholic Central High School, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Elizabeth Burke Hubbard. Kathy retired as a loan officer for HSBC after many years of service. She was a communicant of the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes and a Parish Council Trustee Emeritus. Before working at HSBC, she devoted her time raising her 6 children. She loved her grandchildren and doted on them tremendously. She is survived by her husband of 54 ½ years, Constantine Kawola of Cohoes, her six children, Michael Kawola of Mechanicville, Thomas (Susan) Kawola of Clifton Park, Matthew (Jacki) Kawola of Latham, Nancy (William) Keeler of Cohoes, Lynn (Stephen) Fitzgerald of Ballston Spa and Carol Ruddy of So Glens Falls. Grandmother of Shaun, Connor and Christopher Kawola, Kate and Ali Kawola, Samantha, Jenna and Seth Kawola, Carolyn Santoro, AnnMarie Potts, Billy and Megan Keeler, Madeleine Fitzgerald, Lauren, Josh and Rachael Ruddy and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of Bishop Emeritus Howard J. Howard of Albany and Joan (Richard) Engleman of Rhode Island, also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Friday, September 18, 2015, 11:00am at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by her brother, Bishop Emeritus Howard J. Hubbard. Interment will follow in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes on Thursday, from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish to remember Kathy in a special way may make a contribution to the Teresian House. The family would like to thank the staff at the Teresian House for the loving care given their Mother.
