Obituary of Lisa K. Garneau

Lisa Kay Middlebrook Garneau, 59, of Schenectady and formerly of Troy passed away peacefully at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 after a battle with leukemia she had fought and she couldn't quite win. She graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1974 and attended HVCC for a year until she got married and had 2 wonderful sons, Nicholas D. Korsak and Jeffrey M. Korsak. When her children became older she became a school bus driver for Lansingburgh Central Schools. In the 1990's she became a licensed optician and worked for doctors and various other optical places. She retired in 2006 to take it a little slower and became a security guard till her illness. She experienced a lot of things in her life, some bad but more good. She was very grateful for everything as we all should be now days. Let's try to make things better for all. Lisa is the daughter of John R. (Jack) Middlebrook of Greenwich, step-daughter of Jeanne Middlebrook and the late Constance K. Riley Middlebrook. She is survived by her loving, dedicated husband Keith C. Garneau of Schenectady, her sons Nicholas D. Korsak of Albany and Jeffrey M. Korsak of Melrose, whom she loved beyond words, step-mother of Christian (Jessica) Garneau of Nassau and step-daughter- in- law of Dorothea Garneau of Troy. Lisa wanted to thank her surviving siblings for their support, Susan (John) Goodbred of Troy, Kristen (Mark) Eastman of Salem, Paige (Jim) Ford of Iowa and Toby (Ambi) Middlebrook of Utah, grandmother of Agnes and Bridget Garneau, also survived by many nieces, nephews and Brother-in-law Todd (Paula) Garneau and Sister-in-law Susan (Joseph) Stopera. A Memorial Service will be held Friday evening, June 12, 2015 at 6:30pm at the DUFRESNE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 216 Columbia Street, Cohoes. Inurnment in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 to 7pm. Those who wish to remember Lisa in a special way may make a contribution in her memory to the Mohawk & Hudson River Humane Society, Oakland Avenue, Menands, N.Y.
